Hey, Brian
I certainly remember you and your lovely Mom from my 5 years at the station in the 70s. Good to know you’re enjoying a career in radio thanks to your visits to the WLBZ studio as a young man. 🙂
In the sales dept, I also remember Nancy Dysart, seen by Bangor local TV audiences on the “Romper Room” kids’ TV show and later in Children’s Miracle Network telethons; and Jim Vasella, who could sell a freezer to Santa Claus, current whereabouts unknown. Jim became a good friend and was best man at my wedding. Also remember the late Chuck Foster, one of the first wave of Z 62 jocks. I used his radio production studio many times after I moved from radio to the advertising business. He was a pleasant, funny guy…I remember walking into his studio one winter day dressed in a leather coat and one of those silly Tyrolean winter hats (resembling a furry fedora) & Chuck remarked, “Man, you look just like one of the Blues Brothers.”
Also remember Don Clarke, “Ish” Hunter and Eddie Owen, three of the true gents to ever work in Maine radio.
Thanks for the memories, Brian. Sad to think about “Maine’s heritage radio station “ shutting down, just shy of its 100th birthday. Hope Stephen will seek and find a buyer to keep it going!
Mike
Thanks so much Mike for being an inspiration to me, and allowing me to observe you live in the WLBZ studio way back then!! Love to you and Jo Ann always my friend!!
